Bounce House Rentals at Pontiff Playground
Allowed with a shelter rental — but there's one booking rule that costs people money if they miss it.
Yes, you can have a bounce house at Pontiff Playground — with a shelter rented through Jefferson Parish Recreation, dry units only, and a generator from us.
The rule that catches people: if you're using an inflatable, JPRD requires you to rent the shelter all day. Not the three-hour block. Budget for the full day.
Don't book the 3-hour shelter
Jefferson Parish shelters rent for a three-hour minimum with one hour of free setup, or all day. But park users must rent the shelter all day if a spacewalk is being used. Book the three-hour block with an inflatable coming and you'll be sorting it out on the phone the week of your party.

How to book it, in order
- Check our availability first. No point reserving a shelter for a date we can't cover.
- Reserve the shelter at jprd.org — Facility Rentals tab, pick Pontiff Playground, choose a green date, select all-day, sign the Rule Agreement Form and pay online. Eastbank help: Patricia Tolar, (504) 736-6999.
- Tell JPRD your inflatables are coming from Bounce World. They keep a list of approved spacewalk and party play equipment vendors, and they want to know who's showing up.
- We send the insurance certificate — the additional insured certificate, 4.5% of your order.
- Pick a dry unit. No water games at the shelters.

Shelter rental is paid separately to Jefferson Parish Recreation. Minimum order amounts apply depending on availability.
Power: bring your own, from us
There's no usable outlet for a blower at the shelter, so a generator is required and it comes from us — one generator per inflatable, quoted with your order. Two units means two generators. The blower runs the entire time the unit is up.

Good to know
- Alcohol requires a police detail. Budget and arrange it in advance if you're serving.
- Crawfish boils on site are only allowed by approved and insured caterers, and also trigger the all-day shelter rule.
- Pontiff is a neighborhood playground, not a regional park — great for a kids' birthday with one or two units, less suited to a 200-person festival. If you're planning something bigger, ask us about Lafreniere.
Common questions
Do I have to rent the shelter all day for a bounce house at Pontiff?
Yes. Jefferson Parish requires an all-day shelter rental if a spacewalk is being used. The three-hour block isn't an option once an inflatable is involved.
Can I get a water slide at Pontiff Playground?
No. Dry inflatables only at the shelters. If you want a water slide, your own yard is the easy answer — call us and we'll talk through it.
Do I need a generator?
Yes, and it has to come from us — one generator per inflatable, quoted with your order. There's no usable outlet at the shelter.
How do I reserve the shelter?

Does the park need to know who my rental company is?
Yes. JPRD maintains a list of approved spacewalk and party play equipment vendors. Tell them your inflatables are coming from Bounce World and we'll get them the insurance certificate.
How long do I get the rental?
All day. Deposits are required to hold certain games on certain dates.
What if it rains?
Cancel at least 48 hours before your date and your deposit becomes a credit toward a future date. Inside 48 hours, the deposit is lost.
